A Look Inside
The school serves students from our residential treatment facility as well as surrounding local school districts. Canyon View School currently has eight classrooms that consist of 12 students to one Special Education Teacher, and two Instructional Assistants. Full time staff includes two Program Support Specialists, an Administrative Assistant, a School Principal and a Vice-Principal. Part time staff include a school counselor, an assessment coordinator and language specialists. Designated instruction and specialized services are provided where deemed necessary and appropriate by the IEP team.
Canyon View School supports innovative programs initiated by our staff members. In particular, the Program Support Specialists have created the Reaching Academics Positively ( RAP) program as an extension to the school wide positive behavior support plan created by the teaching teams. This program has received funding from a variety of organizations. It has motivated students to achieve more both academically and socially by rewarding their hard work in a positive way.
