McKinley Children's Center

About Us

Our center has been a leader in providing top quality services to the children and families of our community since it opened over 100 years ago. We offer support for a variety of youth issues ranging from severe emotional trauma to reading difficulties.

Programs & Services

Residential Care

McKinley Children’s Center believes in providing a home-like environment to those who aren’t fortunate enough to have one. Our Residential Program offers a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week haven for boys between the ages of 6 and 17 to call home. The boys reside in cottages that provide a safe and secure environment with individual, group and family resources to promote emotional health and provide permanency placement upon discharge from our facility.

Foster Care & Adoptions

At McKinley Children’s Center, we believe every child deserves the best life possible. It’s that philosophy that has led to the creation of our Foster Family & Adoptions Agency. Through this program, we provide loving homes and better opportunities to those children who have neither. Our foster children are placed in foster homes throughout the community, where the foster parents are highly trained and deeply compassionate. Additionally, we help both the child and the parents through the oft-difficult adoptions process, and we assist in providing reimbursement to foster parents who have provided homes for our children. Our friendly, helpful, bi-lingual staff is available 24/7 to handle any of your or your child’s needs.

Canyon View School

At the McKinley Children’s Center, we understand the importance of an education and also know that some children need more attention than others in the classroom. The Canyon View School is a Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited school focused on providing an education to children with special needs. Our teachers are highly trained and educated, and use the latest technologies and honed learning methods to achieve great results in their classrooms. Students range in ages from 5 to 22, and each one is provided the best possible education.

Brain Lab

The McKinley Children’s Center’s Brain Lab is a top-grade, technology-based reading center service for children. It is geared toward helping children who are behind in their reading skills, but is just as useful in helping those children who simply want to improve their reading capabilities. It uses neuroscience technologies to diagnose reading deficiencies and to then tailor a customized program that will help the student achieve his or her goals. And the best part is that the computer-based programs are fun for the children, so he or she is able to play while learning.

Training Center

McKinley’s M-Certified Training Center provides quality online and in-person training to the community in a variety of areas. We’re approved to provide continuing education to Administrators of Group Homes, Adult Residential Facilities, Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, and to professionals registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. We also provide management training and state-certified Administrator courses for Group Homes and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly.
